Mason has more Medicare choices than almost anywhere in Southwest Ohio. That's the problem.
Warren County has about 48,000 people on Medicare, and roughly 3,400 more turn 65 every year. For 2027, Warren County residents can choose from 82 Medicare Advantage plans, and 53 of them have a $0 premium. Add every Medigap carrier licensed in Ohio and a full list of Part D plans, and you've got hundreds of combinations to sort through.
MedMyWay is an independent Medicare agency run by Jeff and Suzanne Janosick. We compare plans from nearly every major carrier in Warren County, show you the two or three that actually fit your doctors and prescriptions, and help you enroll. It costs you nothing, and your premium is the same as if you went to the carrier directly.
Most Ohio towns have one obvious hospital. Mason has four health systems within about 20 minutes, and that's why plan choice here matters more than usual.
Many Medicare Advantage HMOs build their network around one or two of these systems. If your primary care doctor is with Christ, your cardiologist is at Bethesda North, and the closest ER is Kings Mills, an HMO that only covers one system can cost you real money.
What we do: before we recommend anything, we check every doctor, specialist, and hospital you use against each plan's 2027 network. If no Advantage plan covers your whole care team, we'll tell you, and we'll show you how a Medicare Supplement (which works with any doctor or hospital in the country that takes Medicare) compares on cost.
Every fall, plans change. For 2027 in Warren County:
The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7. Changes you make take effect January 1. If you're on an Advantage plan and change your mind after January 1, the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (January 1 to March 31) gives you one more switch.
Mason is home to corporate headquarters and large employer campuses, and a lot of Mason residents hit 65 still on a company health plan. That's where expensive mistakes happen.
The questions we walk through with Mason clients who are still working:
That last point is the biggest one for Mason retirees. Pick a Supplement right the first time, because in Ohio you may not get a free do-over.
There's no universal right answer, but here's how it usually breaks down for our Warren County clients:
A Medicare Supplement (Plan G or Plan N) tends to fit if you:
Medicare Advantage tends to fit if you:
Supplement premiums in Warren County depend on your age, ZIP, tobacco use, and carrier, and they can vary by a lot for the exact same plan letter. Plan G from one carrier covers the same benefits as Plan G from any other, so we shop the price for you.
We work with clients across Mason (45040) and the surrounding Warren and Butler County communities, including:
Deerfield Township, Kings Mills, Landen, Maineville, South Lebanon, Lebanon, Liberty Township, Loveland, Montgomery, Springboro, and West Chester.
We meet by phone, by video, or in person by appointment, whatever's easiest. Most Mason clients do everything without leaving home.
AEP closes December 7. A 30-minute review is usually all it takes to know whether you're on the right plan or leaving money (or doctors) on the table.
