Finding the right health insurance when you’re under 65 can feel like a full-time job. ACA plans, PPO options, short-term coverage, subsidies — there’s a lot to sort through. Jeff Janosick at MedMyWay helps individuals and families in Northern Kentucky (Fort Thomas, Alexandria, Newport, Florence, and Covington) and Cincinnati navigate their health insurance options with clarity and confidence. As an independent broker, we recommend plans from nearly any insurance company — always with your best interests in mind. Our guidance is completely free to you.
Not all health insurance plans are created equal — and the right choice depends on your income, your health needs, your doctors, and your budget. MedMyWay helps you compare every available option so you can make a confident, informed decision.

MedMyWay is an insurance agency operated by Jeff & Suzanne Janosick. MedMyWay has helped thousands with individual health insurance (under 65) and selecting the appropriate Medicare coverage (over 65). How can we help you?
Marketplace plans are the most common option for individuals and families under 65. Offered through Kentucky’s state-run exchange (Kynect) or the federal Healthcare.gov marketplace in Ohio, these plans cover pre-existing conditions and may qualify for significant premium subsidies based on your income.
ACA plans typically use HMO networks, meaning you’ll have a primary care physician and need referrals for specialists. If you qualify for a subsidy, an ACA plan can be one of the most affordable options available. MedMyWay will run your numbers and show you exactly what you’d pay based on your household income.
If you’re looking for more flexibility in choosing doctors and specialists — or if you don’t qualify for ACA subsidies — a non-Marketplace PPO plan may be a better fit. PPO plans offer larger national networks, no referral requirements, and often more predictable out-of-pocket costs.
MedMyWay works with multiple carriers offering PPO options in Kentucky and Ohio. We’ll compare premiums, networks, and benefits side by side so you can see exactly what you’re getting.
Short-term health plans are designed for gaps in coverage — between jobs, after aging off a parent’s plan, or while waiting for Medicare eligibility. UnitedHealthcare and Allstate both offer short-term PPO plans available in Kentucky and Ohio.
Keep in mind that short-term plans don’t cover pre-existing conditions and don’t meet ACA requirements. They’re a temporary solution, not a long-term replacement for comprehensive coverage. MedMyWay will help you understand whether a short-term plan makes sense for your situation.
If your income falls below a certain threshold, you may qualify for Medicaid (called Medicaid in Ohio or through Kentucky’s Medicaid program) or CHIP for your children at little to no cost. MedMyWay can help you determine if you qualify and point you in the right direction for enrollment.
Unlike Medicare, individual health insurance under 65 has specific enrollment windows:
Non-Marketplace PPO and short-term plans are generally available year-round regardless of enrollment periods.
Shopping for health insurance on your own means comparing plans from one source at a time. Working with MedMyWay means comparing plans from every major carrier in Kentucky and Ohio simultaneously — with an independent agent who explains the differences in plain language and has no incentive to push one plan over another.
Jeff Janosick has been helping individuals and families in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati find the right health insurance since 2008. Whether you’re self-employed, between jobs, or simply looking for better coverage than what you have now, MedMyWay makes the process straightforward
